Irish teenagers say that peer pressure is worse for girls than boys

Visitors to this website have said that peer pressure is worse for girls than it is for boys. The Pressure Poll on the b4udecide.ie website asked “Is peer pressure worse if you’re a boy of a girl?” 59% said that they thought that peer pressure was worse for girls, compared with 41% who thought that boys were under more pressure from their friends.

When we spoke to teenagers, most teenagers said that they felt some pressure to have a girlfriend or boyfriend, or to kiss someone that they liked, particularly if other people in their group were doing it. Some teenagers said that they sometimes felt left out, if they were the only ones not texting someone that they liked.
